How to Handle Jealousy

An honest and confident person knows how to handle jealousy.


Jealousy is a very common feeling of a person who is being threatened by someone else outside the relationship. Jealousy can also occur in workplaces or schools among workers and students. It is a very influential feeling and also a very destructive one.

Since we know that being jealous is very inevitable, we must know how to handle jealousy and how to fight it.


1. Understand the feeling of being jealous. 
Understanding what you're going through is very important. Be aware that you are being jealous at the moment. Ignorance might be a bliss but not all the time. Too much jealousy can ruin not just you but also your partner or other people. You never know, you might be annoying to other people because of your behavior.

2. Where is it coming from?
  ----Why in the first place are you being jealous? Should you really be jealous?
Fighting jealousy is a very difficult thing to do. However, it can be really simple and easy if you will just be honest with yourself. Most of the reasons why people get jealous is because of their own problems such as insecurities, anger and fears. Knowing how to handle these things before jealousy get you can be really helpful. Learn how to control yourself and trust your capabilities.




3. Examine.
Now take a good look at the situation you are in. Examine yourself and your surroundings. What are the effects of being jealous to you physically, mentally and emotionally? Are you also causing problems and affecting other people's lives as well? Be aware of the effects that jealousy has brought to you. And...

4. Resolve.
You know that jealousy cannot give you anything but headaches and heartaches, so you must really learn how to handle jealousy and fight it. Believe in yourself. Know your weaknesses so other people can't use it against you. Individuals have their own set of flaws and capabilities. Nobody is perfect indeed that's why it is okay for us to make mistakes. Love yourself first before you request other people to love you. Lastly, other people can't make you feel miserable if you won't let them.

With these, you now know some tips and steps how to handle jealousy and how to prevent being eaten by jealousy. Of course it is inevitable for us to be jealous once in a while but too much is not good. Prevention and awareness are always better than regrets.
